Chelsea are ‘in touch’ over deal to bring £105M star to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are “still in touch” with AC Milan over the potential transfer of Rafael Leão – according to journalist Carlo Garganese.

With Blues boss Graham Potter looking to add some serious quality to that attack in the coming transfer windows – there has been alot of speculation that the Premier League giants are keen on Leao

AC Milan are reportedly preparing themselves for big-money offers in the region of £105million for their star man in January – and it seemed that Chelsea were the only serious contenders for the winger

Man City have entered the chase to try and sign the gifted attacker – however – so Chelsea FC will now have the best side in England competing for the services of Leao – if you believe the reports.

Now – if you believe the words of Garganese –  Chelsea are in contact over the possible signing of the Portuguese star

Garganese told GIVEMESPORT: “Leão’s contract runs out in 2024. Chelsea, they’re still in touch, they’re one of the main clubs, but they’re not the only club that are interested in him.

“Real Madrid are also interested in him as well.”

AC Milan Director Paolo Maldini recently have Chelsea a boost in their chase to try and sign Rafael Leao

Milan were hoping to tie him down to a new deal so as to end speculation about his future – but  Maldini says the Italians have yet to find an agreement with the player:

“We’ve been talking about this [contract extension] for months, if not years. We’ll meet at the right moment and make a decision.

“The idea was to close [the deal] before the World Cup, especially with players involved in the competition, Leao in this case. It was not possible.”

Chelsea will not want to hear that Man City are now in the chase to sign the player – especially as it could now bump up his asking price in the coming windows

But if there is anybody that is able to compete with City for players – it will be Chelsea FC – they have the money and the pedigree to tempt him to Stamford Bridge guys

So if he impresses at the World Cup – it will be interesting to see just what happens and if Chelsea do actually make a move and he fails to agree that new contract
