Chelsea informed they can sign midfielder for £50 million
Fulham would only consider offers in excess of £50m for key defensive midfielder and CHELSEA target Joao Pauhinha, but is he ready for a move?
The Fulham midfielder is enjoying a stunning season and his performances has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. he has made 29 appearances in the league this season, where he has become an integral part in Marco Silva’s side.
It is no secret that incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino will continue to try and improve the squad when he officially makes the move over the next few weeks – and add some depth to the squad and really send a statement to the rest of the League.
According to Football Insider, Fulham would only consider offers in excess of £50m for Joao Palhinha.
Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all reported to be interested in the 27-year-old’s signature after an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League.
Amid all the speculation that they are interested in the Fulham man – Berbatov recently opened up and claimed that Paulimha is good enough to make that step up to the next level – Berbatov told Betfred:
“Yes, he certainly has the quality to do so.
“He has everything that a holding midfielder needs. He’s not afraid of challenges, he can pass, he’s great at spraying a diagonal ball and switching the play. He’s also capable of scoring goals too.
“If a team like Manchester United, or a team of a similar calibre, comes for him, then he’s going to think it’s time for the next step and to win trophies.
“He can’t believe that all the hard work is done after one season because remaining consistent is going to benefit his career a lot more.’
Reporter Iomie Stanley believes that Paulinha is not ready for a move to a club like Chelsea and may struggle to make any sort of impact on the side – he said: ‘Paulinha has had a brilliant season for Fulham there is no doubt about that guys – and he certainly needs to make a bigger move in order to test himself at the highest level of the game.
‘But would he really be able to make an impact at a club like CHELSEA? All thos world class players that the club have and all the ones that will be coming in? He would pretty much be a bench warmer.’
