Chelsea making contact with agents, transfer ban to be lifted for January?, and 50-goal midfielder Fernandes move to be made
Chelsea could make a move for Bruno Fernandes in January if their transfer ban gets lifted.
Chelsea are reportedly making contact with players’ agents as they plan for a busy January transfer window in the hope that their current ban is lifted, as the the Blues expect the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to cut short their transfer ban, which was imposed by FIFA in February.
It will mean that Lampard will be able to delve into the clubs transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad that will add some experience, and quality in the right areas of the pitch.
And one man that could be signed by Chelsea is that of Fernandes, who has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the past few months.
Fernandes had an amazing season last year for the Portuguese side and created or assisted in over 50-goals, alerting a number of clubs to his ever-growing potential and rumours that he was all set for a big summer move to the Premier League.
Chelsea were interested in a summer deal, but were unable to delve into their transfer kitty to try and acquire his services as they were facing a transfer ban, meaning that the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Spurs were all interested in a deal.
But after months of intense transfer speculation, Fernandes had to stay at Sporting, who wanted as much as £60million for their star player as clubs did not meet his asking price.

However, there is a feeling that he will push for a move in the coming windows if the right offer is made by the likes of Chelsea, or any other Premier League club, as the attacker is keen to test himself at the very highest level of the game.
Chelsea have a number of attackers already at the club, but with reports Olivier Giroud is considering his future and Willian not the same player he was just a few seasons ago, Lampard may need to add a goal-scoring midfielder to his squad in the coming windows.
Fernandes is a very gifted player and his goals, assists and ability are clear for all to see, so it is a massive surprise that he has not signed for a big club, but him staying put means Chelsea will have their chance to complete a deal in January, and they SHOULD.
