Chelsea are working on deal to sign impressive £45M winger from rivals!
CHELSEA are reportedly still working on a deal to try and bring Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson to Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino has been unable to pick up his first win as Chelsea boss this new season and there are a few reports that he would still like to improve that Blues attack.
That has led to some shock speculation that a move for Johnson has now become an agenda for the Blues, after the wingers impressive debut campaign for Forest last season saw him manage 11 goal contributions.
He is currently valued at £45 million – a fee that Chelsea are not willing to meet – but Forest are in no hurry to let one of their star players leave – which is holding up an potential deal between the two clubs.
Now – amid all the speculation and the rumours – Journalist ben Jacobs has opened up and claimed that Brennan Johnson to Chelsea is one to watch over the next few days.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “There is some interest in Brennan Johnson at Nottingham Forest. That might be one to watch between now and the end of the window.
“As of the last 24 hours or so, any kind of approach was quite formative. But let’s see whether that picks up in the coming days, and between now and the close of the window.
“Chelsea really like the player, for sure. He’s had excellent form of late as well, so you can understand why.”
SHOULD JOHNSON JOIN CHELSEA?
To join one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and compete at the highest level would be a massive move for the lad to make – but at this stage of his career, he needs to stay put.
CHELSEA have a bunch of attackers that may be just a little better than the lad, which means that he may struggle to get the game time that he wants and desires.
So even though it would be a big move to make – it is not the right one.
