£484K-a-week superstar sent clear message about completing possible move to Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo will burn his briges with Man United if he joins Chelsea, according to Glen Johnson.

Despite the fact that Erik ten Hag has said on numerous occasions that Ronaldo is part of the plans at his new Man United side – and despite the fact the player has not really suggested he wants to leave – there has been alot of speculation

Rumours emerged just a few days ago that Chelsea owner Ted Boehly had met with the agent of Ronaldo to discuss a possible move to Stamford Bridge – but that was swiftly rejected by the Man United board

However – those rumours still persist in the media and there is a feeling that the right Chelsea offer could tempt Ronaldo to London – especially as he wants to play Champions League football and challenge for all the big trophies

But if he does join Chelsea this summer – Johnson has sent a clear warning to the Portuguese superstar – Johnson told GGrecon: “If he goes to Chelsea then he’d burn his bridges at Manchester United.

“From Chelsea’s perspective, he’s a massive brand and he may be expensive, but you’d probably make that money back in two weeks through shirt sales.

“He may cost a fortune but the club would probably make more by just having him. Signing Ronaldo is like signing a commercial deal.

“I don’t think Ronaldo can change Chelsea’s fortunes as a player now, but I think having him in the dressing room would.

“On the pitch now, he’s not the Ronaldo we all want to see, but him being in the dressing room will get another 5% out of everyone around him.”

It has been a shock to see that Ronaldo is tipped to leave Man United – but considering he wants to win the Premier League – Champions League titles one more time – or even have a chance at it while he can – you can see why Chelsea might be a good option

But could he really join Chelsea?
