It has now been claimed that Chelsea are looking to hijack Arsenal’s move for Everton star Amadou Onana.

With questions being asked of Thomas Partey’s future at Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta is ready to reinforce his engine room. Onana is a proven performer in the English top flight, while also collecting nine senior international caps with Belgium.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, “intensive” discussions are taking place, and it is suggested that “things could develop quickly” from this point.

it’s understood that Everton will hold out for a £50m fee for Onana, who they signed in a £33m deal from Lille in August 2022.

However, the Sunday EXPRESS Website reports that Arsenal are facing competition from CHELSEA FC , who are also keeping tabs on the Belgium international’s situation at Everton.

The Blues are also looking to improve a number of positions in the side and have a habit of stealing rivals transfer targets.

Onana is a solid player – but he is not the type of signing that will push Chelsea back into winning that Premier League title on a weekly basis and fans will be hoping that this is just a rumour.

CHELSEA FC on the other-hand need some power in that midfield and adding this unit to the side will be a very good bit of business as he is already proven in the Premier League – unlike many of the current Blues side.

Mauricio Pochettino knows the type of players that will help him take the club forward and we are certain that Onana is a man that would add some force to the midfield.

He could be a very good addition to the side.
