Done deal! Chelsea announcement made as Brazilian Kenedy ‘happy’ after completing summer move
Chelsea winger Kenedy has returned to Newcastle on a season-long loan, and is delighted to continue his development at St James park.
The 22-year-old Brazilian joined Rafael Benitez’s side on loan in January and scored twice in 13 games, earning a number of rave reviews for his performances up North.
But the exciting Brazilian has decided to head back to Newcastle and work under Rafa Benitez, who was desperate to take him to Newcastle on a permanent basis.
“I am so happy with this interest from Rafa Benitez, that he came back for me,” he said on the Sky Sports website.
“I want to keep it going, the work that I did here before, for the new season.”
Kenedy added: “I am so happy with this interest from Rafa Benitez, that he came back for me. I want to keep it going, the work that I did here before, for the new season.
“I have received many, many messages on social media from the fans. They made me feel appreciated, so I wanted to come here in this new season and give everything on the pitch.”
Many Blues fans had been hoping Kenedy would be given a chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge next season after proving himself at Newcastle, but the Blues may not feel that he is not ready to challenge for a first team spot.
And Newcastle will give him the game time to develop and improve.
