Frank Lampard sends transfer announcement as Chelsea’s £85 million target Koulibaly tells club he wants summer move
Frank Lampard has opened up and confirmed that he is seeking to freshen up his Chelsea squad in the summer, with Kalidou Koulibaly linked.
There have been some reports in the media suggesting that Chelsea are planning for potential new signings in this coming transfer window, as they seek to improve the side.
It will mean that Frank Lampard will be able to delve into the clubs transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad that will add some experience, and quality in the right areas of the pitch, and one name that will be high up on the shopping list of the Blues boss is that of Kouliably, who is easily regarded as one of the finest central defenders in Seria A, and around Europe.
Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and even Barcelona all joining Chelsea in the chase for the defenders signature.
Now, amid the speculation linking the club with Koulibaly, Lampard has come out and stated that he is intending to freshen up the side and add a few additions to the side, which has got many Chelsea fans excited about whom could be following Hakim Ziyech to the club in the summer.
“I’m certainly excited about the squad we’ve got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need,” he told Chelsea magazine.
“We didn’t bring in anyone in January, it didn’t work out to be right for us at the time, and last summer we couldn’t bring anyone in, so those windows are gone and we haven’t changed.”
Gazzetta dello Sport recently suggested that Koulibaly has told Napoli of his intentions to depart the club when the summer transfer window opens up and knows that offers will arrive from the Premier League.
However, he will not come cheap in the transfer window as the Italian outlet also reports that Napoli will require a fee of £88.5million for the 28-year-old’s services.
Look, WE ARE ALWAYS saying that Chelsea need to add a world class defender to that back-line to give them a bit of leadership at the back, so the reports that he has now decided to leave will be great news for clubs like Chelsea.
And the fact that Lampard knows that he needs to spend some money will mean that a an offer will surely be submitted for the powerhouse?
