Forget Bayern Munich as Lampard announces he wants billiant £60 million star signed up for Chelsea
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has claimed Callum Hudson-Odoi will reject the chance to sign with Bayern Munich and stay at Stamford Bridge.
The youngster is one of the most highly-rated wingers in world football after an impressive season at Stamford Bridge this season and his performances for Maurizio Sarri’s side over the past 12 months have caught the attentions of Bayern Munich.
It is believed that the Germans are still keen to try and acquire his services this transfer window, despite the fact he is seriously injured, and despite the fact that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that the winger is integral to his plans in the coming seasons.
Chelsea drew 1-1 with Bohemians in Lampard’s first game in charge on Wednesday and the former Derby boss confirmed afterwards that he’s desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi.
‘I am not going to say things that are pie in the sky but, with his talent, he can be central to this team, he can be central to England,’ said Lampard on the Sky Sports website.
‘He can show, right here at Chelsea, the team he came through the academy at, that he is going to be a world-class player – because I truly believe that.
‘I will pay a lot of care and attention to Callum – because of the contractual position he is in – to try to get him to stay, and not with any lies or any false statements to him.
‘That of course goes to a decision between him and the club and I am not involved in the financial negotiations, but I can certainly tell him how I see it and I see him being a huge player for us.’
Hudson-Odoi is the future of Chelsea and they need him to stay, as he will develop into a world class winger if he is given the game time ne needs to develop.
He wants to play on a regular basis and if Lampard can convince him that will be happening this coming season, then surely he will decide to stay with the club as Stamford Bridge would be the perfect place for him to develop now that Eden Hazard has left the club.
