Chelsea announcement imminent after £55M star agrees mammoth SEVEN-YEAR move!
Chelsea are set to sign Romeo Lavia in deal worth £55 million, sources have told Football Insider.
It is no secret that LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is not done with his transfer business for the summer and is very much interested in a deal for the talented Lavia.
Fabinho is a man that Klopp will need to replace after his decision to make the move to Saudi Arabia – and Lavia is a midfielder that Klopp reportedly feels is ready to come to the club and help fill the void of the Brazilian star.
It has been claimed in recent weeks that Liverpool have made their first official move to get Lavia signed up and offered a fee around the £37 million mark – which has been rejected by the Saints.
And the inability for Liverpool to get a deal done has opened the door for Chelsea to show an interest in getting a move wrapped up.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
The football Insider understands that the midfielder has told his club that he would like to join Chelsea this summer and not Liverpool, and the fee will be in excess of £50million plus add-ons.
A contract agreed until 2030 (seven years) already agreed.
IS LAVIA WORTH THE MONEY –
So much has been said regarding the talented lad and this move is one that both CHELSEA and Liverpool believe he is ready for.
Lavia is a very gifted young player that has a big future in the game and he needs to make the right choice about where he will move too – or it could scupper all the development he has been making at the Saints.
Liverpool will not want to see that Chelsea have now made an offer – it makes it alot harder for them to sign the lad as the Blues will be prepared to pay crazy money in order to wrap up a transfer deal that is for sure.
