Wow – to see Tuchel – one of the best coaches in the world get the sack so soon into the new season is crazy – but to see that Potter is the man that could replace him is even crazier

Potter is a very good young manager – but he does not has the credentials to get the best out of some of the best players in world football – they will not respect him enough

He may be the early leader – but we would be shocked to see him take over at the Bridge

Tuchel sacked –

Chelsea have stunned the world and shocked Champions League winning boss Thomas Tuchel – the club have anounced

German coach Tuchel led Chelsea to the Champions League title in 2021 and the Club World Cup crown in 2022, but has paid the price for an indifferent start to the new campaign.

Chelsea have sacked Thomas Tuchel in the wake of Tuesday’s chastening 1-0 Champions League defeat at Dinamo Zagreb, the Premier League club have announced.

Chelsea’s statement on Thomas Tuchel’s departure, said:

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”

This is massive news and fans will surely be shocked at the news – Tuchel was a much loved boss

Fofana to be bargain –

Club legend Pat Nevin has opened up and claimed that Chelsea have signed a bargain in the shape of £75 million Wesly Fofana

With Thomas Tuchel desperate to add a couple more defenders to that back-line – Fofana followed Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £75 million

He was easily the biggest signing of the summer for Chelsea – and one that surprised many as the media could not believe that the Blues were paying so much money for a lad that has done nothing in the game

However – he is rated as one of the most exciting young centre-backs in the world right now and a player many believe will go on to become one of the top five defenders in the beautiful game

And Nevin has described Chelsea’s £75m deal for Wesley Fofana as ‘really cheap’ if the club keep the 21-year-old at Stamford Bridge for several years.

What has he said?

‘If you sign Wesley Fofana for £75million and keep him for the next 10 years – that works out at £10million per year, which is actually really cheap,’; said Nevin.

‘If Chelsea really needed Fofana – which they did – then the fee they paid is absolutely the right number and if they hadn’t signed him this season then I don’t think they would’ve finished in the top four.

“They wouldn’t have had the quality.’

£75 million is alot of money to pay for the lad – especially as he has done nothing in the game

But working with Koulibaly and Thiago Silva should help him develop into the calibre of defender that Chelsea needs now – it may be a couple of seasons before the fans see the very best of the Frenchman – but the potential is there

But again – £75 million was alot to pay for the lad – it could also be an expensive risk
