Tuchel told to complete Chelsea deal for ‘absolutely fantastic defender’ from Prem rivals

Chelsea have been told to make a summer transfer move and try to acquire the services of Leicester City star Wesley Fofana
After Chelsea were hit with sanctions which meant that they could not open talks to sign Antonio Rudiger back-up The Blues are now in the market for a few more defenders this summer
Thomas Tuchel will need the funds to sign an adequate replacement for Rudiger – with the reports that the German boss will have a reported £200 million to spend over the course of the next few months
And that has led to reports in the media that the Blues are now eyeing up a potential deal for Fofana, who is currently valued at around the £35 million mark
Fofana could be one who fits into Tuchel’s system, as he is the same kind of player as Rudiger – but it has been claimed on the that the Blues will have to pay some serious money for the lad
Leicester have no plans to let the player leave but know they may not be able to fend off the interest from the likes of Chelsea – and because of that – will be demanding a fee of £68 million to get a possible deal done
But now – amid all the speculation that Chelsea are keen on Jules Kounde – Frank Leboeuf has opened up and encouraged the Blues to splash the cash and try to sign Fofana this transfer window
He told ESPN: “I think Kounde is a very good option.
“If not, Fofana. Fofana from Leicester is an absolutely fantastic defender.
“That would be a fantastic option as well [for Chelsea]. I’m not sure Leicester would let him go, but he’s a great player.”

Fofana’s definitely got that bite and aggression to his game that mirrors Rudiger – but he he well of the quality of the German star to be ready to play alongside Thiago Silva in that back-line
The Brazilian will not be able to play every game for the club and will need a partner that is able to hold his own against the biggest clubs, Fofana is not yet that player
So if Chelsea want to signa player that has big potential to be a big-time player, then Fofana is a very good option.
But if they want to sign a man that will walk straight into the side – that is proven at the top level – that is rated as one of the best – they need to look elsewhere
