Agent addresses rumours £100 million man is heading to Chelsea with Abramovic keen to wrap up deal
Romelu Lukaku’s agent has shut down mounting speculation the striker could be set to return to Chelsea
Lukaku spent three years of his career at Stamford Bridge between 2011 and 2014 but only made 15 first-team appearances, failing to score a single goal.
And Although his time at Manchester United, after a £75million switch, was not that successful, he has rediscovered his ruthlessness in Italy with Inter and become one of the most dangerous players in world football
The Belgium international has plundered 64 goals and 16 assists in 95 matches for the Italian giants and helped the club to a first Serie A title in 11 years last term, but with the Italians in financial trouble, they may need to sell a number of players in the transfer window
However, it appears Lukaku remains committed to the contract he signed at Inter back in August 2019 which sees him through to the summer of 2024.
‘Romelu is happy at Inter,’ his representative, Federico Pastorello, told reporters after meeting with Inter officials at the team’s headquarters on Thursday.
‘He has a contract so there are no problems.’
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants to add a prolific centre-forward to his squad to catapult the European champions into Premier League title contention next season, And Lukaku, who has 113 Premier League goals in 252 appearances added to 35 assists, is an option who Russian oligarch Abramovich is keen on per Eurosport.
We are massive fans of Lukaku and believe that he is made for Italian football, so even though Chelsea would be a very good move for the player to make, he should stay put if he can as Inter give him everything that he needs.
