Chelsea have made Ramsey transfer decision as talks with Juventus over Jorginho deal rumbles on
Reports have claimed Chelsea have turned down the chance to take Aaron Ramsey in a swap deal for Jorginho with Juventus.
Despite being an invaluable member of the side before the coronavirus stopped football from being played, There has been big transfer speculation in the media that Jorginho could leave the club when the transfer window opens up.
He has barely featured for Chelsea since the re-start of football and is one of the players at the club that reports suggest, Frank Lampard will allow to go in the summer transfer window if the right offer arrives.
Juventus have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature and are said to be in contact with Marina Granovskaia to try and make a deal happen, and the Italian giants have already lodged a bid which included former Arsenal midfielder Ramsey.
But according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Chelsea turned down the offer as they’re only interested in a straight-cash deal.
Ramsey has failed to make the kind of impact on this Juventus side that the Italians had been hoping for and Juventus are desperate to get his massive £325,000-a-week wages off the bill.
Jorginho recently tried to play down all the rumours that he could be leaving the club in the transfer window and has claimed that he is only focusing on finishing the season with the Blues.
He told Chelsea’s official website: ‘I just have to stay focused on when the teams need me.
‘There have been rumours but I haven’t heard anything. ‘I am just focusing on finishing the season well with Chelsea and qualifying for the Champions League.’
Speaking about Chelsea’s win, he continued: ‘Overall it was a good performance. ‘We created opportunities, and we just need to be more effective when we have chances up front. We like to suffer.
‘We need to learn to finish the game before the last minute, to be more clinical to avoid that tension at the end, but we are creating opportunities which is a positive.’
Lampard knows what he is doing and is probably planning for the future, so if Jorginho is not part of his plans, then that is why he is not featuring at this point for the club. But as we said, we do not know what Lampard is thinking and there could be many reasons why he is not playing.
But with the transfer window just around the corner, it would not be a shock to see the man depart the club.
