£150 million Barcelona superstar sends Chelsea transfer message and opens door to future deal

Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target Philippe Coutinho has failed to rule out a summer move away from Barcelona.

Coutinho left Liverpool to join Barcelona just over a year ago, but so far has failed to replicate the form he produced at Anfield at the Nou Camp and there has been a lot of transfer speculation linking him with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United.

Both United and Chelsea are in desperate need of adding to their squads, with the Blues keen to add a replacement for the departing Eden Hazard, while United are looking to add a few world class players to the side.

Several Barcelona stars have offered their backing to Coutinho over the months, but the playmaker fuelled speculation of a move away after Barcelona beat Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

He said on the TMW website: ‘In the last few weeks, months even, I’ve not been playing well. But I still want to improve.

‘I came to Barcelona to give my best. I live for the moment. You never know what the future holds. I am happy with my performance today.’

Could Coutinho end up in the Premier League?

It is s shock to see that Coutinho ha snot made the impact at Barcelona that many expected, but seeing him back in the Premier League over the next few seasons would be a massive boost for the English game as he is a world class midfielder.

Both Chelsea and United would do well to complete a deal for the Brazilian, especially as he would be the game changer they need to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title
