Manchester United ‘have submitted’ £40 million offer to steal winger from under Chelsea’s noses
Reports from Italy have claimed Manchester United have submitted a £40 million offer for Watford star Richarlison.
Richarlison only joined Watford in July in a £12m move from Fluminense and has impressed since arriving in England.
He has already hit double figures in assists in the top-flight this season for the Hornets, and has also chipped in with a number of crucial goals.
While his form as dipped slightly in recent weeks, United and Chelsea remain interested in raiding Marco Silva’s side, according to the Transfermarket website, United have nade the first move to get a deal done and submitted an offer.
Silva recently admitted his club would struggle to keep hold of Richarlison if a bigger side came calling.
He recently said: “For us to improve as a club we need to sign players with ambition.
“I want everyone in the club to work hard and if they achieve something else in their careers, then that’s normal. I’m realistic.
“While they are at Watford they need to give 100 per cent. To do well in their careers is fantastic for us as a club and also for the player.”
Reports suggest Watford would only consider offers of around £40m for the striker they secured on a five-year deal for £11.2m only several months ago.
