Teddy Sheringham has told Chelsea NOT to make a move to sign Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo is one of the very best strikers that the game has ever seen – he is a man that has scored hundreds of goals and won countless trophies at club level – while winning the European Championships with Portugal.

But he is now a free agent after having his contract with Manchester United terminated – and it has led to all sorts of speculation about where he could end up in the coming windows.

Ted Boehly is a massive fan of the man and was keen to sign Ronaldo in the summer window – but he stayed put and the American missed out – but he has been keeping a very close eye on the player.

However – amidst all the latest speculation and rumours – Chelsea have been told why they should not be making a move for the man.

‘I don’t think Ronaldo is a good move for Graham Potter at all,’ Sheringham told BoyleSports Football Betting.

‘Not so early in his Chelsea career to be dictated who comes in.

‘He obviously wants to have a full say on what happens at the club and that would send out the wrong message straight away.

‘Football surprises you every day and you don’t know what could happen next, so who knows?’

However – the headlines he may bring these days are not good ones and it could be a massive mistake from the Blues to make a move for a man that only cares about himself.
