Sporting director Igli Tare officially tells Chelsea and Manchester United £89 million is price to pay to sign powerful midfielder Savic
Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has insisted that the Italian’s £89million valuation of Manchester United and Chelsea target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will not drop.
Despite all the talk, and despite all the speculation surrounding possible new United signings in the January window, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unable to do all the transfer business that he wanted and only managed to secure a deal for the brilliant Bruno Fernandes.
And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that a new midfielder will be a priority for the Manchester United boss, as he needs to add a top-class player to the side in order to get the fans excited
Chelsea have also been linked with a summer transfer move for the powerful Savic, as they seek a long-term solution to the imminent departure of Willian, who has not agreed a new contract with the club.
Frank Lampard will be given the funds to land a couple of marquee signings this summer as Roman Abramovic is starting to believe that he is the future of the club, and they can easily afford to buy Savic.
However, they have both been told that the £89 million asking price will not drop over the summer window, he told Sky Sport Italia: “We certainly don’t need to sell right now.
“I think a lot will change on the transfer market, because the pandemic is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence that transformed everything, so we have to be creative, but above all very clear on our planning for the present and future.
“I think that prices won’t drop for first-rate players. Obviously for the medium and low-end players, there will be a downward trend.
“On Milinkovic-Savic, the boy’s relationship with the city and Lazio will never die because there is a very strong bond that has grown over years.”
Milinkovic-Savic is a very powerful player that has real ability and could be a sensation in the premier League, both United and Chelsea would be lucky to sign him, so it will be interesting to see whom he would join if they both make offers.
That £89 million sounds alot, but the midfielder is one of the best in Europe.
