Fans very happy after Italian announces Chelsea ‘to hold talks’ and hand gifted midfielder big contract

Chelsea are set to discuss a new contract with midfielder Mason Mount, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old has impressed since breaking into the first-team under the guidance of Frank Lampard and has gone on to become a massive part of the Chelsea future
His current deal expires in 2024 and Chelsea are keen to “avoid problems” with Mount, according to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that the Blues are “planning to open talks” with the midfielder over a new contract.
‘Chelsea are planning to open talks with Mason Mount in the coming months. Discussions over new contract have not started yet, no direct contact – but Chelsea want to negotiate this year to avoid problems. 🔵🏴#CFC
‘His current Chelsea deal expires in June 2024.’

If Romano is correct and Chelsea are keen to hand Mount a nice big new contract, then it will be a very smart decision to make from the club as he has a big future in the game
Chelsea are having contract issues with a number of first teamers this season, so with the fact that Mount will get better and better, ending all speculation and handing him a contract in the summer, would shut everyone up.
Yes there is a long way to go before an announcement is made, but at the end of the day, keeping hold of players that are shining at the club right now is the right thing to do.
So this is great news for Chelsea fans, and bad news for all the clubs who were hoping that Mount could be tempted into leaving Stamford Bridge
