£80k-a-week star ‘holding out’ signing up with Chelsea because….

Chelsea star Mason Mount wants to discover the future ‘strategy’ at Stamford Bridge, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Mount has become one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons and is a man that Graham Potter can totally rely on

But Mount’s current stint with the Blues ends in 2024 and there has been some speculation in the media that the club are having complications on agreeing a new contract with the midfielder.

However – Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive CaughtOffside column has explained that despite there being claims of Mason Mount’s contract extension being stalled, the English midfielder will surely stay at Stamford Bridge.

Now – Journalist Jones has opened up and claimed the fan favourite could be holding off putting pen-to-paper while there is uncertainty over the direction the Blues are heading in.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “I think it’s interesting that he hasn’t just signed the contract and that he is actually holding out a little bit.

“Maybe he just wants to wait and see what the actual strategy is here. Speaking to someone at the weekend about how these things are working, they said it is quite a complicated strategy that they’re putting in place.

“They’re trying to sign three different tiers of player at the moment, all at the same time, and trying to just make the immediate future, the near future and the far future all come into place at one time.”

There is so much speculation regarding the future of Mount – but at the end of the day – he loves being at Chelsea

We are sure that he is demanding what he deserves and we are sure that Chelsea will eventually give him what he wants

But at the end of the day – he is one of the clubs biggest players and it would be a massive shock to not see him agree a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
