Man City star Raheem Sterling has been told that a move to Chelsea “would be perfect” for him this summer window

With reports that Thomas Tuchel will have around £200 million to spend on players over the course of the transfer window – adding goals to that attack in the summer will be a priority

Hakim Ziyech – Christian Pulisic – Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner all struggled to score the amount of goals that Tuchel wanted or needed last season – and the German knows that he needs to add more quality to the attack to close the gap on Man City and Liverpool

That has led to reports which have suggested that Sterling is a player that he would like at Chelsea – with the latest batch of rumours suggesting that he has been offered to the London giants

Sterling would be considered a statement signing and the player, according The Sun, is keen on a return to his London roots but will seek assurances from Thomas Tuchel over the role his likely to play in his plans.

Tuchel already has an abundance of attacking options in his squad, but with doubts over the futures of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, he is likely to be able to offer Sterling the guarantee of first team football he craves.

And Former Chelsea defender Scott Minto believes that a move to Stamford Bridge would “be perfect” for the man who scored 13 league goals last season.

Minto told talkSPORT: “Raheem Sterling is even more a no-brainer [for Chelsea], I mean my goodness. You kind of think ‘Well where would he go?’ He isn’t going back to Liverpool, he isn’t going to go to [Manchester] United.

“Next best? Well, United are way down there, but Chelsea would be perfect for him.

“Chelsea and Spurs I think would be two good moves for him, but Chelsea still I think they would be able to bridge that gap certainly more than what Spurs could do so I would absolutely go for it.”

IcFootballnews view…

To see that Sterling is a player that Man City no longer want is a massive shock – but he is certainly one of the best attackers in the Premier League and most clubs would like to snap him up

He honestly cant see Man City selling a player that has over 131 goals for the club – but if the money is right – then they may and he would be a very good signing for Chelsea
