£100m powerhouse to Chelsea? Blues in talks to sign defender and Chelsea should sign unhappy Brazilian superstar

Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news from icfootballnews.com

There has been some reports in the media which have suggested that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be handed a massive £200 million next summer to sign superstar players, and one signing he should make is Kalidou Koulibaly.

Now we all know that Chelsea were unable to go out and splash the cash on some big named players as they were banned from acquiring any players for at least two transfer windows, and although they did appeal the ban, they only managed to tie down a permanent deal for Mateo Kovacic and bring in Christian Pulisic.

News boss Frank Lampard has a massive job on his hands trying to get the best out of the experienced players, while also giving the younger generation more of a chance at Stamford Bridge, as he could not improve the squad.

But with the sales of a number of first-team players, the Blues made a massive £130 million in sales this summer and that is to be reinvested into the club next summer, as Lampard will reportedly get around £200 million to spend on new players.

And with the defensive issues at the club, Lampard needs to acquire the likes of Koulibaly from Napoli.

Regarded as one of the best defenders in the game right now, Koulibaly was heavily linked with a summer move to Manchester United as the Red Devils looked to strengthen at the back, but they were put off by his £100 million price tag.

But Chelsea will not worry too much about spending that kind of money, as they are financial stable and know that acquiring someone like Koulibaly would certainly improve their chances of winning that Premier League title.

Reports have claimed defender Fikayo Tomori will enter contract talks with Chelsea as Frank Lampard plans to give the 21-year-old his first team chance following David Luiz’s move to Arsenal on deadline day.

Luiz, who recently agreed a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge, made the shock decision on transfer deadline day to make the move to the Emirates after boss Unai Emery cam calling.

It is believed that Luiz forced through a move away from the club after finding out that he would not be first choice at Stamford Bridge, with Frank Lampard reportedly preparing to give the youngers at the club more of a chance this season.

And with his departure, Lampard was unable to sign any players as there was simply not enough time left in the transfer window, and they are still banned from trying to acquire players over the next two windows.

But according to reports on the Goal website, they have already identified his possible long-term replacement as there have been some reports which have suggested that Tomori is all set to get a new contract to stay at the club.

The 21-year-old’s contract expires in 2021 and the Blues have always been keen to keep hold of the defender after his impressive loan spell under Lampard at Derby County last season.

And with Luiz now fully departed from the club, they are even more desperate to tie him down and make sure that he is not tempted by a move away from the club, with numerous clubs already showing a cheeky interest in trying to secure his services.

Chelsea should and could make a move for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho next summer with that £200m transfer kitty they are reportedly getting.

And one name that will be on the shopping list of Lampard is that of Coutinho, who has been linked with a move away from Barcelona after failing to make the kind of impact that many anticipated after his successful spell with Liverpool.

Chelsea sold Eden Hazard, their main source of goals and their star man, but were unable to acquire the players they need to fill the void of the Belgian. And although they have the exciting pair of Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi, landing someone like Coutinho will be a priority.

The Brazilian is a creative genius, can score goals and more importantly, will send a statement to the rest of the premier League that Chelsea are here to challenge for that title and are ready to spend the money to do so.
