Chelsea News: Contract offered to impressive £50M midfielder Potter really likes
It has been claimed that Brighton have moved to try and deter Chelsea from making a transfer move for Moises Caicedo
With the transfer window drawing to a close over the summer – there was a shock move from Chelsea to try and acquire the services of Caicedo -as the club to add some more depth to his squad
But – it has been claimed in the media that the likes of Chelsea are ready to delve into that transfer kitty and try to sign the midfielder in the coming windows – especially as Grahm Potter seeks to improve his side
However – Brighton are set to enter contract talks with Moises Caicedo as they look to fight off interest from other Premier League teams, according to The Mirror.
Brighton are determined to keep the Ecuadorian for the long-term but must resist the interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Former Liverpool striker Michae Owen had plenty of praise for Ecuadorian Caicedo, a player who was heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the summer transfer window but stayed on the south coast.
What has he said?
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Own said: “I like this lad. I think there are a lot of teams looking at him. There were rumours that he could be one of the next big-money buys or sales from Brighton’s perspective.
“That’s the reason why (goal against Leicester). It was a really assured finish and performance.”
It was a massive shock to see Chelsea make such a late move for the man – but going by his performances this season – you can see just why they wanted too
He is looking brilliant after stepping out of the shadow of Yves Bissouma and we can easily see him leaving Brighton in the January window – especially if he continues his great form
