Chelsea news: Spaniard announces ‘when i got call ‘you don’t have to think twice.’ – happy with move!

CHELSEA stopper Kepa has revealed that he could not turn down the opportunity to join Real Madrid over the summer window.

After the Spanish giants revealed that current number one Thibaut Courtois will be out of action for most of the season, the decision was made to sign Kepa on loan for the season.

the Spanish star has never really hit the heights that many had hoped for, but he has won the Champions League, Premier League and a number of other cups during his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Now he has opened up and Speaking to Marca, the 28-year-old has revealed his move to the Spanish capital, which included turning down Bayern Munich, as a switch that he could not turn down.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

“Everything happened very fast. It’s true that (Mauricio) Pochettino wanted me to stay at Chelsea and told me that I was going to play, and that he trusted me. However, I thought a change would suit me. I wanted a change. Thomas Tuchel called me. I was close to going to Bayern Munich.

“In the end, Real Madrid is Real Madrid. When Real Madrid calls you, you don’t have to think twice. It is a great joy (to be here) and an exciting challenge.”

It was a shock to see that CHELSEA have allowed the man to leave – they must believe that what they have at the club now is better than what they have let go over the summer transfer window.

But this is a great move for Kepa as he loves La Liga and to play for one of the biggest sides in the world – great move.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Courtois returns to the side from injury, as he is the number one and one of the best in the game, will Kepa still be happy about sitting on the bench every week?
