Chelsea have made €100 million in cash plus Ziyech offer to sign top transfer target
Chelsea have reportedly launched another huge transfer bid for Benfica star Enzo Fernandez.
The transfer window has been open for some time now and Chelsea have signed a whole bunch of players that have improved key areas of the pitch – and some players that are for the future
But Fernandez has been heavily linked with a big move ever since his outstanding 2022 World Cup performances, which helped Argentina win the title, and he is a player that Chelsea really admire.
Benfica successfully rebuffed the Blues’ initial attempts to sign the midfielder – after they reportedly submitted a fee of £80 million earlier this transfer window – but they are now heading back in
According to Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Chelsea have proposed Benfica €100 million in cash plus Hakim Ziyech to sign the World Cup winner.
Roger Schmidt has recently opened up and admitted that he does not expect to see Fernandez depart the club this month and he is happy to see out the season at the Estadio da Luz.
Speaking at a press conference today ahead of Thursday’s league match against Pacos Ferreira, Schmidt confirmed the player is not expected to leave. Asked if he was confident of Fernandez staying, Schmidt said: ‘Yes. When you see Enzo playing for Benfica you see a very happy player, in great shape.
‘He’s not thinking about anything else. I’m not expecting to lose any of our regulars, and that’s why I see very focused players and I hope this stays that way’.
The lad is brilliant and has a big future in the game – but damn he is not worth the money guys – this is crazy.
Ziyech is pretty much done at the club so we are sure that he will leave – but all this money on one player is madness.
