£280,000-a-week star has been offered to Chelsea as agent admits powerhouse set for transfer move

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt,

De Ligt, who joined Juventus from Ajax in a £67.5m deal in 2019, has been splitting his playing time with 37-year-old Giorgio Chiellini this season, and is reportedly very unhappy with the fact that he is not playing on a weekly basis.

Chelsea were keen on bolstering their defensive options in the summer and came close to signing a number of players, but instead opted to save their money and wait until the coming transfer windows.

But now it seems that they have a real opportunity to land a player that they have been keen on for a good few seasons now, as De Ligt has reportedly been offered to Chelsea ahead of the January window

Goal claims that Juventus are ‘ready to offload’ De Ligt as they want his £280,000-a-week salary off their wage bill.

In an interview with Italian media last month, De Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, made it clear that the Netherlands international could be sold next summe

‘De Ligt could also leave Juventus at the end of the season,’ said Raiola.

‘This is how the market works, there are many clubs who are interested in his services.’

De ligt is a top-class defender that has all the attributes to be one of the best, so it has been a shock to see that he has had to share his game time with the Italian legend this season

If Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the player, then he would be a great addition to that Chelsea back-line, as they are still lacking that classy defender

However, there are a number of clubs interested and De Ligt may feel that a move to Stamford Bridge would not give him the game time that he really wants?
