Chelsea OFFICIALLY announce deal – Winger set for move – Chelsea fans sent exciting message about £34M summer signing

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to a Chelsea departure as he closes in on a summer move to Fulham.

CHELSEA have already seen several high-profile players leave the club this summer. Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic have all found new homes in the Premier League.

Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante have moved to the Saudi Pro League, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic have both joined AC Milan. Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta has left for Atletico Madrid.

A few seasons ago Hudson-Odoi was regarded as the future of Chelsea – a special talent that doesnt come around too often and a player that the club had massive hopes for

However – he had failed to reach the heights that many expected and last summer – he was allowed to leave the club on loan for the season in hope of getting some much needed game time with Bayer Leverkusen

The winger – once valued at £60 million – made a number of starts for the German outfit – but once again failed to live upto the hype and the decision was made to not make the move a permanent now.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Sky Sports report that Fulham are approaching a deal with the Blues for the winger, and There is said to be optimism that a deal can be finalised this week as the 22-year-old edges towards a move.

Hudson-Odoi has come through the academy at Chelsea and made 126 senior appearances for the club.

He spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen and now looks set to move across west London to Fulham.

RIGHT TIME TO MOVE ON FOR ODOI?

The lad had a big future once – but the money got to his head and his performances dropped off. He needs to reignite his career so a move away for him is the best thing.

If the reports are true and he is going to Fulham then he will be a very good signing for the club and it could be perfect for him.

It will give him a chance to try and reignite his career in England.

KEPA MOVES –

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has completed his season-long loan move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish goalkeeper will play for the La Liga giants this season after Thibaut Courtois suffered an ACL injury.

He was CHELSEA’s no.1 in between the sticks last season but his future this summer was uncertain, despite the fact that Edouard Mendy left the club on a permanent deal to Al Ahli.

Robert Sanchez has been brought in by Chelsea as a replacement and he made his debut in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool, and he is now expected to be the number one at Stamford Bridge.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

In a statement released by Chelsea on Monday, the club said: ‘The club wish him well for the season ahead in Madrid, where he will work with former Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti.’

Madrid revealed: ‘Kepa Arrizabalaga (Ondarroa, Vizcaya, 03/10/1994) has joined Real Madrid. Our squad has been strengthened by the addition of a goalkeeper with international experience, having won the Nations League 2023 with the Spanish national team and having played more than 100 Premier League games.

‘Kepa, 28, joins Real Madrid after five seasons at Chelsea, where he won 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup and 1 Europa League. He was the recipient of the award for the best save in the Premier League 2022/23. Capped 13 times for Spain, he won the European Under-19 Championship in 2012’

GREAT MOVE FOR KEPA –

We are shocked that CHELSEA allowed Kepa to depart the club this transfer window – but damn it is a massive move to make for the Spaniard.

He may not have a permanent clause in the contract – but if he impresses this season in La Liga, there will be quite alot of clubs interested in a deal.

But it really says something in the transfer window, Chelsea dont want Kepa but Bayern Munich and Real Madrid did – what are the Blues missing?

EXCITING JACKSON MESSAGE SENT –

Daniel Sturridge has tipped summer Chelsea signing Nicolas Jackson to become a star after his impressive performance against Liverpool.

After impressing last season for Villareal – the CHELSEA board made the big decision over the summer window tosplash £34 million and bring Jackson to the Premier League.

It is no secret that the Blues struggled for goals last season – they lacked quality in front of goal, and the hope has been that Jackson will have the ability to lead that attack, especially as no other striker has been signed this summer.

Jackson showed his prowess in front of goal against Liverpool and really impressed many people that were watching, and Sturridge is clearly one of those supporters, with the former Chelsea man comparing Jackson to club legend Drogba for his style of play.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

‘I think the signing of Nicolas Jackson, for me, is a very good signing,’ said Sturridge.

‘I liken his style to a hybrid of a young Mario Balotelli in terms of the skills and the presence and strength, and Didier Drogba. Of course he doesn’t have as powerful a shot of those two players but his ability around the box, his one-twos, his flicks and tricks.

‘These are things of his height and stature are not normally used to having. I think his ability on the ball to manipulate it, to create problems for defenders, he’s very mobile, he makes very good runs, he makes peeling runs inbetween the two centre-halves and he’s got blistering pace.

‘When he runs through it’s very difficult to catch him. I’m excited to see him today.’

CAN JACKSON BE A 20-GOAL A SEASON STRIKER?

The young striker certainly has alot of potential and he showed that he can be a threat against one of the best sides in the Premier League –  it was a shock to see that CHELSEA signed the man, but after that performance against Liverpool, we can see why the club made sure he was signed.
