Massive Ornsetin message will give Chelsea bigger chance of signing 20-goal a season star

David Ornstein has revealed it is unlikely Arsenal will make a move for Napoli striker and Chelsea target Victor Osimhen in the January window.

Arsenal have started the new season great and are clearly the favourites to take that Premier League title away from Man City, who do not look like the treble winning side of last season.

However – there is a feeling that Arsenal are still lacking that striker that can score 20 or 30 goals a season, that Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli do not score enough goals on a weekly basis.

And that has led to some stunning reports in the media which have claimed that Osimhen, who helped Napoli win that Seria A title last season, is on the agenda of the Gunners board as they see to make another statement signing.

But in a boost to the likes of Newcastle and CHELSEA, Ornestein has opened up and claimed that Arsenal will not make a move to try and sign Victor Osimhen in the coming transfer window.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

In a fan Q&A, he told The Athletic: “In terms of price and profile, Adnan, I don’t see Arsenal going for Osimhen. I suspect he is on their list as he will be for all the top sides.

‘As things stand, I don’t think Arsenal is focusing on recruiting a striker in January; my sense is that is more likely to be on the agenda next summer. Things can change, of course, injury, bids for your existing players, and other factors.

“However, right now, Arsenal have Jesus, Nketiah, and Havertz, as well as goalscoring contributors like Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, and Trossard. They will hope that serves them well this season and then they can look at the situation subsequently.”

CHELSEA are less attractive to join right now than Arsenal, so to get a boost like this will be massive. Osimhen is certainly the type of player they need and less competition means more of a chance of a deal getting done.
