Chelsea announce midfielder deal, Werner Like Vardy, Blues announce attacker has signed up, Sane move to be made? Chelsea to make £40 million move for summer bargain

Pesalic deal done, Werner like Vardy fans have been told, Charles signs up, Sane move to be made? Chelsea to make Bailey move in Chelsea news and gossip.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly ready to turn his attention to Kai Havertz’s Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Leon Bailey.

There has been alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are willing to splash around £40 million in the summer to try and acquire the services of Bailey, who has become one of the most exciting wingers in the Bundesliga over the last few seasons.

Frank Lampard is keen to bolsters his squad at the end of the season and improve the side enough to get back challenging for that Premier League title, and also as a possible replacement for the likes of Willian and Pedro. who have been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.

Reports have emerged indicating that Leverkusen want £90m for Havertz, who has also been linked with European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but Chelsea are believed to not be willing to match that asking price and are only prepared to pay up to £75m for Havertz.

And the Daily Mail have claimed Lampard is now interested exploring Bailey as an alternative signing, as the exciting winger will be a cheaper alternative to the German International.

Look, at the end of the Havertz is a brilliant young player that could be an incredible signing for Chelsea, but Bailey is also the type of player that will make an impact on the club and the fans.

Blues defender Antonio Rudiger has compared Chelsea new boy Timo Werner to Leicester marksman Jamie Vardy.

Ahead of the summer transfer window opening in just a few weeks time, Chelsea fans are getting excited about the new arrivals that will be heading to Stamford Bridge.

Werner is one of those players that are expected to make a big impact at Chelsea when he arrives at the club, and is expected to become one of the very best strikers in the Premier League, especially after his 32-goal season with RB.

And Rudiger has opened up and announced that Werner is like a Jamie Vardy-type player, He told the club’s website: “He’s a really big threat to defenders.

“RB Leipzig is a more counter-attacking team but in terms of attacking the defensive line, he’s similar to Vardy. He has a lot of pace and if the defender makes a mistake and loses the ball, then he goes!”

Rudiger then lifted the lid on what he expects from German teammate Timo Werner at Chelsea.

He added: “Like everyone, I’m very excited that he’s chosen Chelsea and I’m looking forward to working with him.

“I’ve known him since he was 17 and he did very good in the past few years. He can be very important for us.

“His development was just “wow”. In his first season everything was new for him in men’s football but then he started scoring more goals and of course with that comes confidence. He had very good coaches who believed in him and worked with him.”

Chelsea have officially announced that Mario Pesalic has signed for Italian side Atalanta.

Pasalic moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014 from Hajduk Split after impressing the Blues scouts with some of his performances, but has yet to make a single appearance for Chelsea having spent much of his time at Chelsea out on-loan to the likes of Elche, Monaco, Milan and Spartak Moscow.

The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on an initial season-long loan in 2018 and helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for this season’s Champions League before agreeing to move to Lombardy for a second season last summer having signed a new contract at Chelsea until 2022.

But having been settled with the Italians for the last few seasons, he has been keen to make sure that he does not move back to Chelsea this summer and was keen to try and get the Blues to make the move for permanent.

The Blues paid around £3m to Hajduk Split for him in 2014, so will now make a decent return on that investment six years later, with the money surely going to possible signings that will come into the club and improve the side.

The Blues announced: ‘We thank Mario for his service to the club and wish him the best of luck for the next chapter of his career.

Chelsea FC Women have added to their squad with the signing of attacking player Niamh Charles from Liverpool Women.

The England youth international came through Liverpool’s centre of excellence and development squad, before becoming a first-team regular. She made her Women’s Super League debut at just 16 and has since gone on to make 59 appearances, scoring 11 goals for Liverpool.

But after a few weeks of talks Charles has agreed a nice three-year deal with the Club.

Charles said on the club website: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Chelsea FC Women. This is a really proud day for not only myself, but also my family.

‘Emma Hayes is one of the most highly-regarded managers in our game. She was a huge part of my decision to come to the club. I know she will help me fulfil my potential and I will be working hard to make sure I give myself every opportunity to learn, develop and improve as a player. I can’t wait to get started.

‘I’m joining the current WSL champions and this club regularly competes for trophies domestically and in Europe – something I can’t wait to be a part of.

‘I want to say to the fans that I will always give my all and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of them at Kingsmeadow. The support Chelsea get is amongst the best in the league and I’m sure that together, we’ll enjoy lots of success.’

Hayes added: ‘Niamh is a player we have watched since her debut season. She is a tenacious and willing competitor that gives everything in her performance.

‘Her abilities out wide will be utilised on both flanks and we know her best years are to come. She knows what it takes to succeed here and she has a great head on her shoulders.

‘I’m excited to show the fans her pace and ability in one-v-one situations.’

Chelsea should make a move and try to sign Leroy Sane from Manchester City in the summer, now he is leaving the club.

Frank Lampard is no fool, he knows that he has taken over a Chelsea side that still needs alot of work being done to it, despite the fact he has been signing players ahead of the summer window.

He has been linked with some big names from outside the Premier League, with many of those players very young and needing alot more years to reach their full potential.

But despite the fact that Bayern Munich are leading the chase to sign Sane in the summer window, the Chelsea boss Frank Lampard should make the move and try to get the hierarchy to hand him the funds to get a deal done.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed the club wanted to keep the 24-year-old Germany international, who has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich, but he wants to pursue a new challenge.

“Leroy said he doesn’t want to extend his contract,” Guardiola said on Sjky Sports. “If he wants to leave and it is going to happen this summer or at the end of the contract. The club talked to me a few times, he rejected his contract so he wants to play at another club.

“I think everybody knows and if at the end of this season an agreement can be found he will leave, if not he will leave at the end of his contract.”

It is a shock to see that Sane is leaving the club, he is a brilliant winger that would get many Arsenal fans excited.

Rather than looking at players that will need time to adjust to the Premier League, Chelsea should step up and make the move for a man that 12 months ago was regarded as one of the best wingers in Europe, but has just been plagued by constant injuries.

He shouldnt cost that much money and would be a great replacement for the departing Pedro.
