Excited much? Brilliant £58 million star Pulisic ‘ready to prove himself’ after summer arrival at Chelsea

American International Christian Pulisic has admitted that he is ready to ‘prove himself’ in the Premier League after a good pre-season with Chelsea.

The Blues ended months of speculation in the media last January by finally securing a deal for Pulisic, as they beat off the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and even Arsenal for the lads signature.

And now he is at Chelsea and preparing to prove himself in the Premier League, he acknowledges the levels of pressure are not the same.

‘Dortmund was a bit different because I came through the academy there, growing up and maybe not having the expectations there,’ said Pulisic on the Chelsea website.
‘But I wanted to go in and prove myself the best I could and be a part of that team.

‘Here, being a new signing and coming in to the club, I felt that I needed to prove myself and I wanted to show the guys early on, especially my team-mates, that I could play too. Hopefully I have done that a bit and earned their respect. That’s important when you go to a new club.

‘I’m enjoying it. it’s a good change for me coming from Germany. Things are easier with the language, and the club has helped me so much, not just with the football but with everyone else. It’s been great.’

‘From an attacking position I want to get goals, I want to help my team-mates with assists, and do a lot a good things in the attacking end. Obviously my work defensively is important too.

‘I want to do the best I can and help this team the best I can. It’s pre-season now and I still have my opportunity to prove [myself] when the real season comes around.

‘This team has a lot of quality, and I think I can help with it for sure. Hopefully I can mix with these guys well and we’ll find our way to score goals and win matches.’

Pulisic is a man that has the ability to score goals on a regular basis and if he is able to adapt to the quality of the Premier League quickly, then the Blues will not miss star man Eden Hazard one bit.

There are many out there that firmly believe that Chelsea will struggle this season under Frank Lampard, but they have a very exciting side and if Lampard can get his tactics across to the squad, well they can achieve more than just a top four spot.
