Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
According to a report CHELSEA are closing in on a deal to sign Manuel Ugarte.
The season is pretty much done for Chelsea and Frank Lampard – there is one game to go before the club can put a miserable campaign behind them.
There has been no silverware – there will not be any European football for next season – there has been a number of manager changes and Chelsea may even finish in the bottom half of the table.
Now the club can focus on adding to their squad in the summer transfer window and signing players that will make a difference – and Ugarte is a man that the club reportedly want.
Ugarte joined Sporting for just over £5million in the summer of 2021 from fellow Portuguese side Famalicao.
“Manuel Ugarte very close to becoming a new Chelsea player. Contract for 6 years, about 65 million Euros. His desire to play in the Premier League is getting closer,” writes Journalist Franco Fernández.
Liverpool and Newcastle United have watched Ugarte this season but are working on other priorities as it stands.

CHELSEA need players that is for certain – but fans will be hoping that Mauricio Pochettino has asked for the signing of Ugarte and it is not Ted Boehly making another transfer decision.
Ugarte is a very talented defender that will improve that back-line – so it will be interesting to see if the reports are true
POCH WANTS KANTE –
Mauricio Pochettino would 1 million per cent like to have Harry Kane join him at CHELSEA, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth
The Tottenham striker is one of the best in the world – and it is widely believed that this will be his last season at Spurs as he strives to challenge for titles, and maybe win a few before he hangs up his boots.
There has been some links to Manchester United and Bayern Munich in recent weeks – but recent reports has tipped the Englishman to make the move to Chelsea, where he would be linking up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Now – amid all the speculation that the former Spurs coach is interested in taking Kane to Stamford Bridge – Reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that Pochettino would want Harry Kane at Chelsea for next season.
Stanley said: “ Mauricio Pochettino would want Harry Kane. He helped mould the Englishman into the striker that he is today.
‘CHELSEA have the money to pay Daniel Levy the money that he desires – but we simply cannot see Kane making that decision because he is a proper Spurs boy.
‘It will be interesting to see just where the striker ends up in the summer – but we simply cannot see the England striker making the move to Chelsea to link up with Pochettino.
‘But we fully believe that Pochettino 1 million per cent will try to get Ted Boehly to make a move for the forward – he has too.
‘Chelsea need a striker like Kane – The Spurs man will have more chances to win trophies with the Blues, depsite their poor season this campaign – it is a move that Kane will seriously consider.
‘Levy will be a big issues in this deal – this will be talked about all transfer season we are sure.’
CHELSEA PUSHING FOR LAVIA
CHELSEA are making a big push to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton this summer, it has been claimed.
Chelsea have had an awful season this year and will end the campaign with no trophies or no Champions league football – meaning the club will need to splash some more cash in the summer window.
Incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino is a man that is heading to the club over the next few weeks after agreeing to take over the Premier League giants for the next few seasons.
Many clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and former side Manchester City are pushing to sign the 19-year-old this summer after an impressive campaign – despite the fact the Saints could go down.
Talks between Lavia and Chelsea have been ongoing for several months as they continue to plot a summer move for the youngster.
And now the football Insider website has claimed that the Blues are pushing to try and secure the signing of Lavia early in the transfer window
Amid the speculation Iomie Stanley has delivered a huge update on the midfielder from an Chelsea perspective.
“CHELSEA could still come back in for Moises Caicedo, even if the priority is Declan Rice. And they could go for Romeo Lavia as well”, he said.
“They won’t get all three, but it could indicate that they might be looking for two in the centre of the park when these targets are concrete.
“They’re looking at such a high volume of players because not all these deals are easy, particularly the ones involving the teams that are well down in the Premier League.
‘Lavia is one of the most important players that the Saints have and will want to keep the lad – especially because he has a massive future in the game and will not command a massive wage when the club get relegated to the Championship.
‘But Lavia will want to stay in the Premier League and will want to join a club that will give him that opportunity – so he will be looking for a way out as soon as the transfer window opens up.’
