Agent on way to London to complete and finalise shock Chelsea Sarri deal?
Reports have claimed the agent of Maurizio Sarri is flying into London to negotiate his exit from Chelsea this summer.
Sarri has been in the headlines for all the wrong seasons this season with many in the media criticising his tactics and results against the Premier Leagues big boys, but he stuck it to many on Wednesday night when he masterminded a stunning Europa League win.
Goals from Eden Hazard, Pedro and Olivier Giroud handed Sarri his first bit of Chelsea silverware and his first European title, which many did not expect considering he has been tipped to leave the club.
Recent reports in the media have claimed Sarri will still get the sack from owner Roman Abramovic, who now has his sights set on bringing club legend Frank Lampard back to the club, and Italian giants Juventus are reportedly keen to take him to Seria A.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the coming hours and days will quickly decide Sarri’s future, with his agent, Fali Ramadani, flying from Milan to London to speak to Chelsea’s board.
His preference is to be allowed to join Juventus and Ramadani has been tasked with finding an agreement that suits all parties.
Sarri recently stated he will discuss his future with Chelsea’s board, explaining last night: ‘The season is finished one hour ago. Tomorrow, I will begin to speak with my club, with the owner, with a director, with Marina… I don’t know. We need to speak like at any club at the end of the season.
‘We need to know what the club can do for me, and what I can do better for the club. Also the club need to speak to me. Then, after a couple of days, I will decide. I have a contract so, at the moment, we are talking about nothing.’
Chelsea are back playing Champions League football and are once again European Champions, what more could Sarri do in his first season in the Premier League then give the Russian that?
He has done a wonderful job at Chelsea and if he gets the sack, it would be a massive loss, although not a massive surprise.
