Blues fans left fuming after departed boss Maurizio opens up and takes swipe at Chelsea
Maurizio Sarri has taken a swipe at Chelsea and claimed that Juventus are a step up from the Premier League side.
Chelsea ended months of transfer speculation last summer to nail down the services of Sarri, who was the clubs number one target, but after just one season he has left the club.
There are many reasons why he has departed the club and sections of the fans are disappointed to see him leave, especially after he nailed down a top three place and a European trophy.
But now fans will not be happy with the Italian boss after he seemingly took a swipe at the Blues, claiming Juventus are a step above the club.
Sarri said on the Sky Sports website: “Juve are the best Italian club right now and offered me a chance to return to Italy. It’s the crowning achievement of a long career.
“It’s been a long journey for me made up of gradual steps. I’m happy to be at the most important team in Italy and this is a further step forward after the experience at Chelsea.
“I preferred to go abroad to avoid going from one Italian team to another. The Premier League experience was amazing, but for family reasons I desired go back to Italy.
“The opportunity was given by Juventus and it is I think also the climax of the career. I feel I have respected everybody.”
Sarri is now back in Italy with a club that is far superior to the rest of the League, so all he has to do is put a good side out and he will win the Serie A title.
The Premier League is a step up from the Italian League and that is why the Italian could never get to grips with the English game.
Many fans will thank him for the success that he brought back to the club, but they will not appreciate the little swipe he has had at the club.
