Sarri speaks! Chelsea boss has Odoi and Fabregas message after impressive 4-0 PAOK win

Maurizio Sarri has told the Chelsea fans he was happy with his teams performance in the Europa League against PAOK, as the Blues ran out 4-0 winners.

Chelsea were rarely made to come out of second gear the moment Yevhen Khacheridi was sent-off early on for a professional foul on Olivier Giroud. The striker then went onto help himself to two goals (27, 37) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (59) netted his first ever senior goal on a rare start before Alvaro Morata (78) scored late on.

It means Chelsea have won all five of their Europa League group games and have made it to the next round with a game to spare, and the four well-taken goals followed and a number of different facets of our play pleased the boss.

‘First of all we approached the match very well, so I am very happy with this,’ Sarri said on the Chelsea website.

‘In the last three matches we had big problems with our impact in the match.

‘It was really very good, especially because before the match we knew very well we were in first position of our group after BATE Borisov won. It wasn’t very easy to find big motivation, so for this I am very happy.’

The Italian was also impressed by the second goal struggling Oolivier Giroud managed to net after a great pass from Spanish maestro Cesc Fabregas, stating: ‘It was really very good, but the pass from Cesc was an incredible pass.’

And finally Sarri was asked about his take on their new 18-year old superstar Callum Hudson-Odoi, who netted the third goal and also picked up the man of the match award for his very impressive display.

At just 18 years old, the potential in the boots of the tricky winger is pretty frightening. He revelled in the extra space due to their early dismissal and linked with cleverly throughout with Emerson.

Sarri added:‘He played very well, but the type of match was for his characteristics. They had 10 men after seven minutes, so we only had to play in the offensive phase which he is really very able to do. I want to see him in a match when we need him also in the defensive phase.

‘The goal will give him confidence, like for Giroud and Morata. I am very happy with this: two strikers scored in this match, which is very important for us.’
