Chelsea issue statement after OFFICIAL transfer of FA Cup, PL and CL winner confirmed!

CHELSEA Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley have said their goodbyes to midfielder Ngolo Kante.

Kante arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2016 having played a key role in Leicester City winning the Premier League title.

He instantly become a fan favourite at the club for his 110 per cent work ethic and his performances in front of that back-line – which helped the Blues become one of the most defensively sound sides in the Premier League.

He lifted the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup, but in the end he could not agree a new contract and is now heading over to Saudi Arabia.

The Blues said on the club website: ‘Thank you for everything, N’Golo.

Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: ‘N’Golo’s impact and influence during his time at Chelsea cannot be overstated.

‘His tireless performances in midfield contributed to several trophy wins and has guaranteed him a place in the club’s history.

‘We wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter in his career.’

There was no doubt that Kante was one of the best holding midfielders in the world and a massive part of that CHELSEA midfield – but injuries limited him over the past couple of seasons and he could not give what he has in the past.

Blues fans will still be disappointed to see that he is leaving the club – he is very much still loved. But they will wish him the best and understand that a big pay day at this stage of his career is the smart thing to do.
