Chelsea ‘to make approach’ and open talks to seal £4 million deal for perfect Sarri replacement after exit confirmed

Chelsea have made moves to try and get a deal done for Derby boss Frank Lampard after confirming Maurizio has left to sign for Juventus.

Speculation in the media over the future of Sarri has been rife over the past few weeks, as all indications suggested that the Italian boss was desperate to leave Chelsea and head back home to Italy.

Chelsea announced on Sunday that Sarri had decided after the Europa league final that he missed Italy far too much and has agreed a big contract with Juventus, as the immediate for Max Allegri.

And with his departure from the club, Chelsea are expected to step up their pursuit of club legend Lampard according to the TalkSport website, who is keen on a move back to Stamford Bridge and open talks with the Blues legend.

Lampard has emerged as a shock contender to take over at Chelsea next season after guiding Derby County to the Championship play-off final, narrowly missing out on a place in the Premier League next season.

He has played well over 600 games for Chelsea during his illustrious playing career, and the club would be hoping that he could lead the club back into a new era.

But whoever does replace Sarri will not be able to sign any new players, as things stand, with Chelsea having appealed against their two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Sarri to Juventus is a good move for the Italian, especially as the media have pretty much torn him apart over the past 12 months.

So if it is Lampard that takes charge of Chelsea this summer, many feel that he will not last long in the Blues job, especially as Roman Abramovic has a habit of sacking bosses after a couple of bad losses.

It will be a worrying time for Chelsea and they need a manager that will be able to keep the club challenging during a difficult time.
