Lamps prepared to sell Jorginho in order to bring £60 million midfielder to Chelsea
Chelsea are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Jorginho to fund their move for Declan Rice this summer window
The 28-year-old is one of ten first-team stars that Frank Lampard could offload this summer as he looks to raise the funds it will take to try and acquire the services of Declan Rice from West Ham.
The Hammers are no fools and know that Rice will be in demand this summer, so know that they do not want to let the man leave, they have placed a massive £60 million asking price on the England International.
And According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are open to the idea of letting midfielder Jorginho leave the club over the next few weeks and will use the fee to boost their bid for Rice.
The Italian star made 31 league appearances for Lampard’s side during the 2019/20 campaign, But the Blues boss is prepared to get rid of him to bring in his top target.
And it seems that Jorginho has set his sights on a move back to Italy, as his agent has hinted that the Italian would like to link-up with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.
Joao Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss: “Sarri has never called Jorginho personally to talk about Juventus.
“I know there’s talk in the papers, but we have never had direct contact with Sarri or even director of sport Fabio Paratici.
“When the directors Paratici and Marina Granovskaia find an agreement, if they find an agreement, then and only then can I talk about the situation.
“Everyone knows there is a very strong rapport between Sarri and Jorginho after five years working together, I’d be a hypocrite to deny that, but I also want to remind you that Jorginho has three years left on his Chelsea contract.”
Rice would be a good signing if the reports are true.
