“solid, reliable and dependable” German defender Ginter perfect signing to solve Chelsea issues?
Chelsea are one of several top teams linked with Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter this summer window, and a move should be made.
Frank Lampard is a man that knows that this Chelsea side need to be improved in key areas of the pitch over the next few months as he turns this Blues side from champions League chasers to Premier League contenders.
And having one of the worst defences out of the Premier League’s top ten clubs, means that Lampard is eyeing up a number of potential deals that he could solve the issues at the back with.
And Sky Germany report that They are now interested in trying to secure a deal for German defender Ginter, who has developed into one of the most solid defenders in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons.
He is currently valued at around the £35-40 million mark, a fee that Chelsea should be able to afford if they do make a move, and although Monchengladbach do not want to let him leave, reports have claimed that they would be willing to let him go id the price is right.
“As a coach, you know what to expect from him,” national manager Joachim Low recently said about the young man
“He’s dependable and he’s able to do what we want him to do, which is to help build the play up from the back.
“He’s improved defensively too. He has a certain calmness about him, which is what makes him so solid, reliable and dependable.”
Look Chelsea do need to improve this back-line in the summer and if Ginter is the man that will help solve their issues, then so be it.
Chelsea fans just want the club to start making the moves that will help get the club heading in the right direction, and they will certainly want Lampard to add another defender to the side.
He is not a world class defender, but at the end of the day, the FA Cup loss to Arsenal just shows that this defence needs to get sorted.
