World class striker please? Chelsea should wrap up deal to sign unhappy 25-30 goal striker Icardi in Lampard spree
Chelsea fans have been told that Frank Lampard will get a massive £200 million transfer kitty to play with next summer, and one man he should sign is Mauro Icardi.
Now we all know that Chelsea were unable to go out and splash the cash on some big named players as they were banned from acquiring any players for at least two transfer windows, and although they did appeal the ban, they only managed to tie down a permanent deal for Mateo Kovacic and bring in Christian Pulisic.
News boss Frank Lampard has a massive job on his hands trying to get the best out of the experienced players, while also giving the younger generation more of a chance at Stamford Bridge, as he could not improve the squad.
But with the sales of a number of first-team players, the Blues made a massive £130 million in sales this summer and that is to be reinvested into the club next summer, as Lampard will reportedly get around £200 million to spend on new players.
And one name that will be on the shopping list of Lampard is that of Icardi, as the striker is heavily tipped to still leave Inter Milan this summer.
Icardi is coming towards the back-end of his career at Inter and there is much talk that he is no longer part of Antonio Conte’s plans this season, meaning that he could spend much of the time on the bench.
He is reportedly asking for a wage that Inter are not prepared to pay at this moment in time, and he would have left if the Italians managed to secure a transfer deal for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

But with Chelsea lacking a world class striker, they will be in the market next summer to add to their front-line, even if Tammy Abraham takes his chance this season and nets 20-plus goals, especially as the Blues want to be winning the games biggest trophies.
Icardi would bring that x-factor to Chelsea and would add around 25-30 goals a season, something that Chelsea have lost when Eden Hazard left for Real Madrid, and the fact that Milan may be willing to sell their hitman for a bargain means that the Blues will only have to spend around £60 million.
That is not a lot of money for one of the best strikers in the game right now isit?
