Tuchel told to raid Premier League rivals and solve big Chelsea striker issue
Stan Collymore reckons Chelsea should raid Aston Villa for Danny Ings or Ollie Watkins, with reports that the club are looking to sign a couple of strikers in the summer window
It is no secret that there is alot of speculation in the media which has suggested that Chelsea were looking to offload Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner after a very forgettable season with the club
The two hitmen were regarded as two of the most deadly strikers in the game before they made the move to London, and despite some encouraging performances in that Chelsea shirt, they have been massive flops
That has led to many reports in the media that Chelsea will once again scroll Europe in hope that they can sign a forward, or two, that will bring in the type of goals that will help them regain that Premier League and Champions League titles.
However, despite the rumours that they are lining up the best in the business, Collymore has encouraged the Londoners to make a move and raid Villa for their impressive duo Watkins and Ings
Collymore said: “They should be looking for a 22-year-old or 23-year-old somewhere in Europe.
“If not, then maybe Watkins, or even his Villa strike partner Ings, if they’re happy to go older. “Because that kind of player would score 20 to 25 goals in that team and those goals would take Chelsea a big, big step closer to what they want to achieve.
“The question now will be: ‘Do the new owners want to compete?’ “If they do, then with players coming through and with Conor Gallagher back off loan, the future could be a bright one for the Blues.”
Watkins and Ings are two brilliant strikers that can score goals on a regular basis – but they are not at the right level to lead this Chelsea attack
Chelsea want a striker that can score 30-40 goals a season, not 10-15 – which is what Ings and Watkins are doing right now for Villa
