Chelsea signing happy after summer Blues move – Chelsea target eyes Free Prem move – Blues told sign Ligue 1 star

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –

Summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo has admitted that he is settling in nicely after his summer move to Chelsea.

It was believed that a move to Newcastle was going to happen – the Toon were leading the chase for Tosin – they were ready to meet his demands and to be honest – it seemed that CHELSEA were not interested.

However after swooping in late to get the man all signed up – The 26-year-old signed a four-year contract – which started on July 1 – and arrived from west London neighbours Fulham.

He has been at the club a few weeks now and the defender has opened up and revealed that he is settled into life at the club – He told the club website:

‘Pre-season has been great so far,’ Tosin explains. ‘All the training sessions and getting to know the boys have been real highlights. I’ve had a lot of fun so far.

‘Everyone has been great with me and helped me settle. It’s been great getting to know all of them – and I think that’s shown in that picture of the winners in the gym session earlier in the week

‘I’ve enjoyed my first few weeks. We are working hard and learning the way the manager [Enzo Maresca] wants us to play. We have spent time focusing on that while doing the physical work.

‘It’s great because he is asking a lot of me and the other defenders. It starts with the central defenders and the goalkeeper; we are the focal point.’

‘It will be interesting to play Manchester City out there,’ the former City youth player explained. ‘They will be our opponents in the first game of the season in the Premier League, so that will be a good test.’

‘We’re also playing Real Madrid, one of the biggest clubs in the world. So that’s one to look forward to.

‘It will be a great experience to head to America. We have two and a half weeks away and five games against top opposition. It will be really useful to prepare for the season and will be great to see the supporters over in North America.’

ROBERTO EYES PREM MOVE –

Long-standing Chelsea target Sergi Roberto is reportedly now interested in making a move to the Premier League

Roberto has spent all of his footballing career at Barcelona and was hoping that a new deal was on the horizon after holding down a regular space in the side under former boss Xavi last season.

Barcelona sporting director Deco had told Roberto the club was counting on him for next season and set a deadline of August 10 for a renewal offer to be made. However, Roberto has not returned to the club for the start of pre-season training under new manager Hansi Flick and is now willing to listen to offers.

Roberto has now decided he is unwilling to wait any longer for Barcelona to make an offer and is considering an offer from a Premier League side, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The news will alert the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, who has all been linked with a move for the Spaniard and would be very interested in signing him on a free deal.

This rumour has come out of nowhere and to be honest – it will put alot of clubs on alert for the versatile star – who could offer any Premier League outfit some much needed experience and quality.

Barcelona still have time to give him a new contract – but it seems that if CHELSEA make the right offer – if they are still interested in a potential deal for the star – then he could make the move to the Premier League.

However – at this stage of his career – maybe it is not the best thing for him as Roberto if not the player he was just a few seasons ago.

CHELSEA TOLD SIGN DAVID –

Reporter Iomie Stanley has told Chelsea that Lille striker Jonathan David could be signed this summer for not alot of money.

The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for CHELSEA over the past few months, as the Blues will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.

Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that the Blues are interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his valuations is only about £50 million.

Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Jonathan David has have been superb in the French league over the years and they are ready to test themselves in the Premier League over the next few seasons.

‘David has been constantly linked with a move to Chelsea – his asking price is not that much and he is at an age where he could be at the club for the nexty five or six seasons.

‘The Blues board like to buy young – but they need goals this coming season and although Nicolas Jackson was solid last season – there are still alot of doubts as to whether he can be a 20 goals a season striker.

‘CHELSEA will need to make sure that they sign players that can make an immediate impact – big named players that will send a message to the rest of the Premier League – David could be one of those type of signings.

‘He is quality and will add goals to that Chelsea side – Enzo Maresca will be under alot of pressure to get instant results as Blues boss – he will need somebody he can rely on and not put all the pressure on Cole Palmer.

‘As i have just said – David is quality and would bring goals to Chelsea’
