Chelsea OFFICIALLY announce Midfielder has now signed up with club
Sol Gordon has signed his first professional contract with CHELSEA shortly after celebrating his 17th birthday, the Blues have announced on the club website.
Chelsea posted on the club website: ‘Gordon joined the club during his Under-8s season after progressing through our development centre programme and has moved through the age groups since, joining Hassan Sulaiman’s Under-18s squad full-time for the current campaign.
‘Last season he was part of the Chelsea Under-16s side which won the Premier League National Tournament and played a pivotal role in our Under-17 Premier League Cup victory, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final at Molineux.
‘This season Gordon has continued to progress, scoring eight goals so far across the Under-18 Premier League and Under-18 Premier League Cup, most recently hitting a brace in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Millwall in the latter competition.
‘Congratulations, Sol!’

Chelsea have one of the best academies in world football and have some of the best talents around, so the news that Gordon has agreed his first contract means that he could be part of the clubs future plans.
CHELSEA have a plan going forward that includes the clubs youngsters, but we feel that the lad will be sent out on loan for the next few years in order to get some first team minutes and see if he is ready to play for the Blues.
This is great news for the lad and one that he hopes will help fulfil his dreams, but the hard work starts now as he will need to prove that he is good enough to stay at the club and keep on earning those contracts.
We have seen alot of talents get lost in the system for Chelsea, Gordon does not want to be part of that statistic.
