Chelsea Sunday! Hazard contract, Icardi deal and Loftus-Cheek all feature

Here is a roundup of all todays Chelsea headlines.

a href=”” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Chelsea are now reportedly ready to make Eden Hazard the highest paid player in the Premier League with a whopping £350,000-a-week deal to be offered.

Hazard is a man in demand and is being lined up for a record breaking £200 million move to Real Madrid at the end of the season after weeks of the Belgian admitting that he would like to one day make the move to La Liga, in hope he can fulfil his dream of winning the Champions League and coveted Ballon D’or trophy.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona magician Lionel Messi have dominated the Ballon D’or over the last ten years and their goal-scoring exploits in La Liga is a massive factor in why they are always nominated for the award, with one of them ultimately winning the thing.

But with both players coming towards the end of their illustrious careers, there is now a need for a new player to step into the limelight and win the Ballon D’or, and Hazard wants to be that man but feels staying at the Blues and the Premier League will not let that happen.

However, the Daily Telegraph ahs claimed Chelsea are looking to take advantage of the uncertainty at Madrid after the sacking of Julen Lopetegui by offering the Belgian superstar a deal that would make him one of the highest paid in the Premier league, which would take him above the pay grades of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Paul Pogba. It would also boost his current wage by over £150,000-a-week.

Reports go on to claim Chelsea have been boosted by the recent announcement of Hazard, who admitted that he could end his career at the club, and would be happy to do so if a move to Madrid never materialised.

He told Sky Sports: “I can finish with Chelsea. No problem at all. I am very happy with this club, with the team, my family is happy here. So, if I don’t go to Spain, it is not a problem.

“I love the fans — I think the fans love me! What happens in the future, I will be happy, so that’s it.” (Read full article)

It is no secret that the right offer will convince Hazard into leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, with Madrid reportedly ready to hand the Belgian his dream move to the Bernabeu in a deal worth around £200 million, as the Spaniards are desperate to revamp the squad add a fresh batch of galacticos to the side after a disappointing start to the new season.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed earlier in the season that there was contact with Chelsea over a possible deal for Fekir, but they decided to keep hold of the Frenchman after the Blues failed to make an official move for the 21-goal midfielder.

‘In the beginning, when we thought about our summer transfer window and how to organise the future squad, we thought that he was practically gone,’ Aulus said.

‘That’s why we have been able to adapt things.

‘We spoke with Chelsea representatives, and they had no interest at all in him.

‘From then on, we realised we could change our plans (as Nabil would stay).’ (Read full article)

Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Ruben Loftus-Cheek accepts why there are calls for him to leave Chelsea but says he is intent on staying at Stamford Bridge.

The young Englishman is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe and has been in some impressive form over the last few weeks, scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League fixture against Bate and then netting in the 4-0 smashing at Burnley.

However, there is some speculation and calls for him to depart the club as many believe he will not be given the opportunity to fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge, especially since Maurizio Sarri has a number of world class options in his midfield already.

But Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge and, and will look to fight for his Chelsea career.

He told Soccer AM: “I hear it a lot, and I can see why people are saying that, because I’m 22 now and haven’t got too many Premier League starts to my name. I haven’t played too many minutes, whether it be in the Premier League and the Championship, and at 22 it’s not seen as enough by some people.

“I do hear it. I love the club and I love Chelsea, I want to play for Chelsea.

“I made a lot of steps last year. Playing football was massive for me and you can see why people want to see me play, and I want to play as well.” (Read full article)

Reports have claimed Chelsea target Mauro Icardi is all set to sign a new deal at Inter Milan, amid rumours he is wanted at Stamford Bridge.

Despite a very impressive unbeaten start to life at Stamford Bridge, there has been a lot so speculation in the media that Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to bring in a world class forward to help Eden Hazard out, as both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have failed in front of goal so far this season.

And reports suggested that Icardi was the Italians top transfer target and with some even suggesting he is ready to activate the Argentine’s £90 million release clause to bring him to the Premier League.

But despite all the rumours and uncertainty surrounding his future, the Calcio Mercato website has claimed that Icardi is all set to put pen to paper and sign a new and improved deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

Icardi has recently admitted that there has been offers to leave the club, but he has no desire to leave the club and is more than happy with the Italian side.

He was recently quoted on the Metro website: ‘I do not know if everything that is published is true. I always say that I am very good with my family at Inter, I have no intention of leaving.

‘Offers came in the summer but I have neither the need nor the desire to leave. Offers always arrive. At the moment I am very calm and I am focused on what we are doing with the team of which I am a captain. We are going to play in the Champions League and the offers will not move me.’ (Read full article)
