Chelsea close in on Real Madrid deal after £50 million star Kroos tells club he wants summer exit

Fresh reports have claimed long-term Chelsea transfer target Toni Kroos wants to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Regarded as one of the finest passes of the ball in world football, Kroos has been part of the Madrid side that has won three Champions League titles on the spin and was part of the German side that won the World Cup just four years ago.

However, he has not looked like a very happy an this season and he has been dropping hints that he is ready to leave the club, with a whole host of Premier League and Italian clubs interested in trying to secure a transfer deal, with a fee of around £50 million on the cards.

And according to reports on the AS website, Kroos’ words have not gone down well with Real’s hierarchy, and with the club looking to overhaul an ageing squad, there is a feeling that the Spaniards are ready to cash in and let him leave for the right price, especially after he reportedly informed the club that he wants to leave.

Despite the fact Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic are controlling the midfield for Chelsea, it is not certain that Kovacic will stay at the club beyond the season after impressing and that could mean Sarri needs to spend big money to find an adequate replacement.

If Kroos has decided that he wants to leave Madrid at the end of the season, there will be no shortage of suitors for his signature as he is still one of the best passers in the ball that Europe has to offer. But a move to Chelsea may be the wrong one for him and the Blues.

Chelsea already have a number of top-class midfielders at the club and do not need to spend anymore money in that department, Sarri needs to delve into the transfer kitty and land a couple of world class defenders, a replacement for Eden Hazard and a striker that will bang in more than a handful of goals.

Yes Kroos is world class and Chelsea would be lucky to have him, but at the end of the day, Sarri has options in midfield, and needs to work on other areas of the pitch or e will have the same problems he has had this season.

Kroos is not the right man to be signed, so Chelsea shouldn’t.
