Chelsea Thursday! Fekir boost, Ousmane-Malcom warning, Skriniar price set, Pulisic to replace Hazard?
Here is a roundup of all todays Chelsea news, gossip and transfer news.
There has been some reports which have claimed Inter Milan will not consider bids of less than £100m for Chelsea target Milan Skriniar.
Despite the incredible start to life under new boss Maurizio Sarri and his unbeaten start to the new season, it is widely expected that the Italian will delve into his transfer kitty during the January transfer window and bring in a few new players, with a new striker and defender top of his shopping list.
David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have started the season impressively, but many in the media are just waiting for one of the duo to mess up and cost the Blues important points, as they have both proven in the past that they are too unreliable at the back to stick with through the course of a season.
And that has led to much speculation that Sarri is looking to bring in the likes of Skriniar, Toby Alderweireld, Alessio Romagnoli or Daniele Rugani in the next transfer window, with his defence the weakest area in the squad.
Skriniar has fast become one of the most dominant and imposing defenders in Serie A, with his ball-playing ability and leadership at the back more suited to the way Sarri likes to play the game.
However, if Chelsea seriously want to complete a deal for Skriniar in the coming windows, they will have to break the transfer record for a defender as Milan will not even open talks about a potential deal unless their £100 million valuation is met, according to the Sun website.
Milan are no fools and know the value of the impressive defender, so are hoping the high asking price will deter Chelsea, and any other chasing club from making a move in January or in next summers transfer window. (Click to read more)
Reports have now claimed Lyon star Nabil Fekir will ‘push for a move’ at the end of the season, amid Chelsea and Bayern Munich speculation.
The highly-rated Frenchman had become one of the most talked about players in the transfer window, as the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid were reportedly keen to acquire his services for the £60 million Lyon wanted.
But it seemed it was Liverpool who were all set to seal a deal as Fekir was half way through a medical before Jurgen Klopp pulled the plug on a deal as they were not happy with the Frenchman’s long-standing knee injury.
And that reportedly opened the door for Chelsea to swoop in and offer him a move Stamford Bridge, with Maurizio Sarri looking to do some late transfer business.
However, the Italian eventually backed out of any potential deal as he decided to swoop for the impressive duo of Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho, who have turned out to be two great buys from the Italian boss.
But according to L’Equipe, Fekir is hoping to finally secure his big-money move away from Lyon next summer and will be using the Champions League to try and impress, as he hopes both Chelsea and Bayern make a move at the end of the season.
Recent reports suggested Sarri is ready to reignite his interest in a possible £62 million deal for Fekir after recent reports claimed Barcelona have held talks with the agent of Willian about a possible transfer move away from Stamford Bridge. (Click to read more)
ESPN FC pundit and former Major League Soccer star Alejandro Moreno has claimed Chelsea targets Malcom and Ousmane Dembele would be better off if they stayed at Barcelona this January.
With the winter transfer window just over two months away and closing fast, there has been a lot of speculation in the media which have suggested Maurizio Sarri is looking to improve his front-line and defence in a bid to seriously challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
Malcom is seemingly surplus-to-requirements at Barcelona this season after failing to make any sort of impact on the side, and recent reports have suggested he could be offered to Chelsea as part of the deal which sees Willian head to La Liga, as the Spaniards are desperate to sign the £70 million rated midfielder.
Dembele on the other-hand has been in decent form this season for Barca and has already netted five times for the Spaniards, but the hierarchy are not convinced that he is the immediate replacement for Lionel Messi and are reportedly looking to offload in the coming windows in a bid to land their transfer targets, who are believed to be Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
But Moreno has claimed that the duo would be best served if they stayed at Chelsea, and rumours linking them with a switch to the Premier League is just wishful thinking, he told the Daily Star website: “I don’t think that either one of them should force a move, nor will force a move.
“They’re fine at Barcelona.” (Click to read more)
Chelsea are lining up a big summer move for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, but would he be a worthy replacement for Eden Hazard?
Hazard has been heavily tipped to pack his bags and sign for Real Madrid after the current season finishes, with reports suggesting he wants a fresh challenge and a better chance to win the Champions League and Ballon D’or.
The Belgian has even admitted a move to Madrid ‘interest’s him’ as he waits for an official offer to arrive from Madrid for his services.
And recent reports have claimed the Blues are eying possible replacements for the Belgian, with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Gareth Bale and Nabil Fekir all linked with a possible move. But there is also reports which have claimed he will look to Dortmund sensation Pulisic, as his immediate replacement, with the 19-year Old American tipped to become a global superstar.
It has been claimed Chelsea will offer cash-plus Alvaro Morata in a bid to land the American if Hazard does in fact leave, as the Spanish striker has not fulfilled the potential many expected despite his recent run of form in the side.
But what will he bring to the Chelsea side?
Pulisic gets into extremely dangerous positions in the box and has a knack for the killer pass, and he is used to playing a high-tempo, fast-paced and attacking football that current Blues boss Maurizio Sarri employs, and which made him an attractive prospect to Roman Abramovic.
But it is not just his creativity, raw pace and drive to take players on that is one of his main featured, as his decision making in the final third and his ability to score goals is also an attractive proposition for Chelsea. (Click to read article)
