Chelsea to announce first big signing of summer after takeover confirmed
It has been claimed that Chelsea are all set to announce the signing of Sevilla star Jules Kounde
He featured 32 times for Sevilla in La Liga this season, playing a significant role in the Spanish giants retaining the best defensive record in the league – with his impressive displays attracting Chelsea
It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel will need to delve into that transfer kitty in the transfer market and add a couple of defenders that will replace the departing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen
After failing to agree new contracts with Chelsea – both Christensen and Rudiger have agreed moves to La Liga this summer – which will leave Tuchel very short at the back
Recent reports in the media have revealed that Kounde has agreed personal terms with Chelsea -reportedly – and a fee of £59 million has been agreed with Sevilla – so it is expected that the Frenchman arrives at the club
But now that Ted Boehly is the clubs new owner – Fans have been claimed that Chelsea are very close to sealing a deal for Kounde and an announcement will be made once the fee has been paid
Transfer guru Andreas Korssund tweeted: “Jules Kounde is closing in on a move to Chelsea.
“The Blues will conclude talks with Sevilla as soon as Boehly’s takeover is complete and they are ready to pay the required fee.
“Personal terms have already been agreed and the Frenchman is only waiting for Chelsea”
Look – we have said on many occasions that Kounde is a very gifted young defender that has the potential to develop into one of the very best centre-halves in the game and he will be a very good addition to the club
This will be a very good start to the summer window for the club
