January test! Chelsea ‘to submit big money offer’ to sign thirteen goal hitman Icardi
Reports have claimed Chelsea could ‘test the waters’ with a big money move to try and sign up Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi this month.
Chelsea have started the new season in good fashion and look like a side that could mount a serious challenge for a Champions League spot, if they just add a new defender and goal-scorer to the starting line-up.
And one striker that has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Icardi, who has been scoring goals for fun over in Serie A and already has 13 goals to his name this season, which is almost double what Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud currently have.
He is regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet right now, and has a £90 million release clause in his contract that Maurizio Sarri is reportedly ready to pay this coming January.
And reports on the TalkSport website have claimed Chelsea may ‘test the water’ in the coming weeks to try and seal a deal for the Inter striker, although a deal may be hampered by the reports which have suggested Spanish giants are leading the chase and are readying a massive summer move for the 13-goal hitman.
Could Chelsea tempt Icardi to London?
Trying to sign such a big player this month may be tricky as many top players dont like to leave until the summer, so Chelsea can make a move for Icardi, but it is very likely that it will be rejected by the Italians right now.
But even though Madrid are interested in Icardi, the right offer and the fact many players want to work for Sarri means that Chelsea have a very good chance of trying to secure a deal for the Argentine hitman.
