Sporting Director makes transfer statement after Chelsea hold talks over potential deal

CHELSEA FC have been watching Nice star defender Jean-Clair Todibo – but they will have to fight if they want to sign the Nice star.

It is no secret that Thiago Silva is looking to leave CHELSEA at the end of the season and head back to his homeland of Brazil – meaning the Blues have been looking for an immediate replacement for the Brazilian.

And that has led scouts to keep an eye on the performances of Tobibo – who has been attracting alot of Premier League interest over the past few seasons.

Tottenham have already held talks with Nice over the France defender, who has shone in Ligue 1 since leaving Barcelona in 2021, but Spurs opted to sign Genoa’s Radu Dragusin instead.

Manchester United and Liverpool are among the other clubs linked with Todibo, while football.london have reported that the Chelsea have now held talks over a possible deal for the defender.

However – Nice Sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, has stressed that the Ligue 1 club have no intention of selling – Asked if Nice will resist approaches for Todibo, Ghisolfi told reporters: “Yes.

“Jean-Clair and [Khephren] Thuram are definitely that, as players and as leaders as they are vice-captains. We absolutely want to keep them.

“I hope they speedily come back from suspension and injury and quickly bring their freshness, leadership and enthusiasm.”

Reporter Iomie Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘Tobibo is a real unit, a real powerhouse that has the potential to be a world class signing for CHELSEA – he really would be a great addition to that squad.

‘CHELSEA FC like to buy young players that they could mould – and although Todibo isnt as young as what the Blues board have been signing lately – he is certainly the type of player that they could turn into a world class act..

‘He could be a great signing for the club.’
