Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Reporter Iomie Stanley has opened up and claimed that if Chelsea signed Victor Osimhen in the January window, they would be serious challengers for that Premier League title.

Osimhen was all over the transfer headlines in the summer window as a number of the big clubs were reportedly very interested in getting a deal done after the Nigerian star revealed that he wanted to leave Napoli.

Chelsea were one of the clubs that were interested, but despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours, a move to Stamford Bridge never happed and now the Napoli star is on loan at Galatasaray for the season.

But that has not stopped speculation that CHELSEA could make a move for the player in the January window and Stanley has backed the Blues to make a big move for the Nigerian star: ‘Chelsea almost signed Victor Osimhen in the summer, and he is the type of player that would add extra quality to this Chelsea team.

‘Galatasaray would hate to lose him, but he’s a Napoli player and the noises coming out of Naples recently indicate that her will be available in January as the Italian giants would be open to letting him leave for a big fee

‘You want to see the club add more quality to its team because that is what every ambitious club does, and his addition would bring Chelsea a step closer to the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal

‘It seems like the player wants to come to CHELSEA. But his high wages has been a real issue for everyone involved, that is why the Blues did not get the player in the summer window.

‘There could be competition to bring him in – Many would love to see the club working on a deal for him. Osimhen would be a great addition to the squad. and a player that would help close the gape between them and the top three teams

CHELSEA TOLD SIGN GYOKERES

Premier League clubs including CHELSEA have been told Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres could be available for as little as £63m next summer, and Chelsea should make sure that they get the man signed up according to reporter Iomie Stanley

This season, he has already scored 23 goals in just 17 appearances, recently bagging a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League and continuing to make a real name for himself at the Portuguese giants

The Swedish striker’s release clause at Sporting is reportedly €100m (£83m) in a contract which still has almost four years to run in the Portuguese capital, but Gyokeres could be available for as little as £63m next summer, according to The Times.

Gyokeres’ is “dissatisfied” with the decision of the head coach Ruben Amorim to depart for Manchester United, as the Portuguese boss was one of the main reasons that he stayed in the summer window., and according to TBR, while the 26-year-old is in no hurry to pick his next club, it is becoming increasingly likely that he will move to England.

Chelsea have also been linked with Victor Osimhen, but according to Stanley, Gyokeres is the man to get, he told icfootballnews: “There were eight clubs very interested in Viktor last summer [2023]. They all paid Coventry more than Sporting, but the striker wanted to be at the club because of Ruben Amorim.

‘Chelsea have a quality attack that is just missing a few players to complete the puzzle, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have been impressive at times this season, but at the end of the day, they are not 30 goals a season forwards.

‘Gyokeres is a man that is ready for that next step in his career, Sporting are a top club, but the Premier League will really test his ability and his quality in front of goal, Chelsea would be a serious test for the man.

‘Chelsea have been missing this type of striker for a while and they need to make sure that an offer is made when there is a chance to get a dea done.’

CHELSEA STEPPING UP WIRTZ CHASE

Chelsea have taken a ‘step forward’ in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz after making contact with the player’s representatives over a potential move to Stamford Bridge, and he would be a quality signing according to reporter Iomie Stanley

It is no secret that Chelsea, have been one of the biggest spenders in the transfer windows over the last few seasons, and it is also no secret that Enzo Maresca wants to add a bit more quality to the side in the next few windows.

And that has led to reports that CHELSEA will once again delve into that transfer kitty in the January window and try to add a few new players, with Wirtz a man that the club now want after another impressive season for Bayer Leverkusen this time around

The 21-year-old forward is one of the rising stars of European football and reports that the Blues hold a ‘strong interest’ in the Germany international. It is said that Wirtz is on the club’s ‘radar’.

The Leverkusen midfielder had a stellar season in the club’s unbeaten domestic campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering 20 assists on the way to the Bundesliga and German Cup trophies.

Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘it is believed that a few of £127 million would be enough to convince the Germans to part ways wit their talented midfielder

‘Wirtz is the next big thing in German football, the lad is being chased by all the games biggest clubs and will have his choice to choose from when he officially decides to leave Leverkusen.

‘Paying over £100 million for the lad seems like alot of money, but we have seen Chelsea do that for players that are not even close to the quality of Wirtz, so we can see this transfer happening.

‘Wirtz would be a quality signing for the Blues, but as we said, the club will have his choice and we dont think that CHELSEA are high up on his destinations.
