Board told to wrap up Chelsea signing of ‘a-list midfielder’ worth big money

Chelsea have been told to pull out all the stops to complete the on-off signing of Moises Caicedo.

CHELSEA have been doing some decent business over the last few weeks and have added some good players to the side, while also bringing in some of the games most talented players.

The new Premier League is just a few weeks away and Mauricio Pochettino and Co, are working hard to get this Chelsea side ready for the new campaign, and the challenges that face the club.

But ahead of that, and with some time left in the transfer window, Gabby Agbonlahor believes the Blues should do everything they can to secure the signature of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – 

“Chelsea will struggle to finish in the top four without signing an A-list midfielder,” he told Football Insider.

“They have Enzo Fernandez who you know needs partnership with a big player in the middle.

“Caicedo and Fernandez will probably be closer to one of the best midfield partnerships in the world. So Chelsea still need that other midfielder in there to create a partnership.

“And if you haven’t got your midfield sorted, you’re gonna struggle to get into the top four, you look at all the teams that have a strong midfield, for example, Liverpool have rebuilt that area.

“Arsenal have Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Martin Odegaard also, so Chelsea must strengthen in that area.”

IS CAICEDO WORTH THE MONEY THOUGH?

Caicedo is a very good footballer that has a big future in the game, and we are sure that he will make that big move to a big club.

However – £100 million for a man that has done nothing in the game, had one good season, is crazy and Chelsea should not pay that for him.

He would be a good signing that is for sure, and we do know that CHELSEA like to splash the cash, but as we said guys, get him for the right price and make the deal worthwhile.
